About d-Shop

How to buy from d-Shop

From time to time we get reports of confusion about how to buy products listed here. It's really easy. You can use your credit card or pay direct by bank transfer. When you go to our shopping card you will need to register and provide details of address, etc, so we can send you your products. Take note that once you have registered you will need to log in to complete your purchase. This is most important.  If you have any concerns give me a call. All personal details relating to your credit card are kept under the control of Westpac and its payments gateway. We take your confidentiality very seriously. On occasions, for your protection as much as ours, we ask card suppliers and bank officers to investigate the authenticity of a card.

How d-Shop works for you

d-Shop is a wholly New Zealand-owned business. We order phones from our international suppliers on demand. It usually takes up to 7 working days for a phone to arrive in New Zealand. Sometimes it can take a little longer. We do not send it direct to you: we take the opportunity to look at it and make sure it is the correct model and has appropriate adaptors. Once we are satisfied we send it straight on to you by New Zealand courier complete with tracking number. All d-Shop phones are guaranteed for one year. If you want additional guarantees we can arrange for that with our distributor at an additional cost. Products from distributors inside New Zealand have d-Shop's 12-month guarantee except where a manufacturer guarantee applies. d-Shop wants your business and we will do our best to keep you happy. We believe that too many Kiwi business do not do a good job of ensuring customers are happy. Thank you for your interest. -- Don Hill

Will your phone work on the XT network?

Telecom's new XT network is generating a lot of interest from potential buyers. As you will notice here, we haven't been recommending any of our phones so far for the XT network. That's because of Telecom's technical requirements: the XT network, as we understand it, runs on WCDMA. The best way is to look for any phones running 3G HSDPA 850/2100. The XT network has been set up initially to run with HSDPA 850, and with HSDPA 2100 coming on-stream later. Telecom staff tell me HSDPA 2100 is available in the main centres but service can still be a bit spotty in some areas. According to the technican I spoke to, your HSDPA 2100 phone should work just fine in Auckland. We cannot guarantee any supplier's service. d-Shop's suppliers generally do not have HSDPA 850 phones but you will find plenty with HSDPA 2100. However, uncertainty about the reliability of the 2100 band means we cannot recommend our phones for the XT network Feel free to check with Telecom yourself. -- Don Hill
